Career Center

No matter where you are in your career journey, the Internship and Career Center (ICC) can help. Whether you’re a first-year student looking for campus jobs and internships, a graduating student or recent alumnus looking to launch your career, the ICC can support you every step of the way. Handshake is a critical online resource for students to find and apply for jobs and internships and connect with employers. Please note that ASUCD job opportunities are only available on their website.

Student Alumni Association

The Student Alumni Association (SAA) is a student organization that was established in 1989 with the mission to advance student and alumni relations. With support from the Cal Aggie Alumni Association (CAAA), SAA connects current students to UC Davis alumni around the world. SAA strives to build the best Aggies possible through professional development and alumni networking opportunities, community service, building Aggie pride and starting your lifelong connection to UC Davis.

Center for Leadership Learning

The center provides undergraduates a unique opportunity to formally learn about leadership and professionalism, while receiving invaluable, hands-on training that will assist them for a lifetime. It guides students on their leadership journey through programs and services such as workshops, special events, the annual Aggies Leading the Way! conference and leadership coaching.

GradPathways Institute for Professional Development

The GradPathways Institute (GPI) seeks to ensure that all graduate students and postdoctoral scholars receive equitable access to the preparation they need to succeed in their chosen career paths and in their programs of study. The GPI offers enhanced development opportunities through its programming and through its partnerships with campus content experts.

Student Startup Center

The center helps students grow as entrepreneurs and develop the skills and knowledge necessary to build a company through coursework and networking with peers and industry professionals.

Classes and Coursework

Coastal and Marine Sciences Institute and Bodega Marine Laboratory

The Coastal and Marine Sciences Institute (CMSI) supports the Marine and Coastal Sciences major offered jointly by CBS, CAES, and L&S and the Oceanography minor offered by L&S. The institute provides immersive coursework, research and internship opportunities in marine ecology, oceanography, toxicology, invertebrate biology and other related fields on the Davis campus and at the Bodega Marine Laboratory (BML), a premier research and education facility on the Sonoma coast. At both locations, undergraduate and graduate students collaborate with leading scientists, engaging in cutting-edge research that addresses critical environmental challenges.

CalTeach Mathematics & Science Teaching (MAST) Program

The CalTeach Mathematics & Science Teaching (MAST) Program is for any student interested in exploring a career in math or science education. Courses include an exploration of effective teaching practices and methods and include an active internship in local K-12 and UC Davis classrooms.

First-Year Seminars

First-Year Seminars provide impactful experiences for undergraduate students and help them build rapport with faculty and peers in an interactive, small-group format. Studies show participation in these seminars leads to an improved sense of belonging, keeps students on track to graduate on time and supports development of critical and analytical skills.

Quarter at Aggie Square

Quarter at Aggie Square experiences are themed curricula that bring together classes, internships and community engagement. For each experience, undergraduate students study at our Sacramento campus with a small cohort of about 25 students and dedicated faculty. Students are invited to find a theme that matches their academic interests and counts toward their major or minor.

Experiential and Research Opportunities

CA College Corps

College Corps Fellows serve 450 hours in an area of K-12 Education, Food Insecurity or Climate Action over the course of the academic year. The program offers up to $7,000 living stipend plus a $3,000 Education Award upon completion of the service hours.

Global Learning Hub

Through the Global Learning Hub, every UC Davis student can find global learning opportunities available on campus, in the region, virtually and internationally. The Hub offers global learning programs, workshops and resources that enhance all UC Davis students’ academic and career pursuits through four broad areas of opportunities: Community Engagement; Global Skills and Leadership; Internships and Research; and Study Abroad.

Mike and Renee Child Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The institute helps UC Davis researchers find a path to commercialization and helps all students across diverse academic disciplines develop the entrepreneurial mindset, skills and critical tools to address the world’s complex social and economic challenges.

UC Center Sacramento

The center educates California’s future leaders in politics and policymaking, while making the expertise of the faculty of the nation’s leading public university available to decision-makers in state government. The center offers programming for undergraduate and graduate students.

Undergraduate Research Center

The Undergraduate Research Center (URC) encourages and facilitates research opportunities for UC Davis undergraduates in all majors and class levels. The URC promotes research as a high-impact student experience to enhance readiness to succeed in future careers. Mentorships for Undergraduate Research in Agriculture, Letters and Science (MURALS)

Washington Program

The Washington Program program offers an experiential learning program for undergraduate students and provides the unique chance to combine academic studies with an extraordinary internship experience in Washington, D.C. It is an exciting opportunity for students to test-drive their dream careers, build their portfolios and make invaluable industry contacts.
